Hong Hao est un des artistes précurseurs de la scène artistique contemporaine chinoise.
Hong Hao entreprend une carte de son propre monde tout en mettant en avant la Chine actuelle, en utilisant toutes sortes d’objets amassés durant ces dernières années ou collectionnés lors de ses virés à Panjiayuan, marché au puces de Pékin....L’artiste fait le catalogue de ces richesses dans lesquelles l’image du produit et son regroupement obsessionnel devient un objet de désir en soi... Il se contente de disposer les pièces entre elles comme un all-over et utilise le mode sériel pour en accroître l’impact et le déferlement décoratif. La série " My Things" avec ses couleurs vives et son chaos organisé met en exergue le rythme trépidant de la Chine et souligne avec originalité la positon difficile et une certaine obscénité de la société de consommation chinoise. Sans moralisme, Hong Hao se fait le prophète d’une société en perte de signifiant, obsédée par le matérialisme et qui a rompu avec ses valeurs traditionnelles. Les récents évènements mondiaux ont révélé les limites de ce fonctionnement et mettent en garde les abîmes dévastateurs qui peuvent en résulter.
Biographie : Né à Pékin en 1965 Hon Hao est diplômé de l’Académie Centrale des Beaux-Arts de Pékin, département gravure. Il vit et travaille à Pékin.
